Prosecution underway for mysterious death of mentally disabled child

LÂM ĐỒNG — Police of the Central Highlands province of Lâm Đồng have decided to prosecute Lê Minh Quang and Cao Thị Thu Bích for allegedly being involved in the infringement of human bodies, graves or remains. 

Quang,  四 五, a Huế resident temporarily residing in Lâm Đồng, was accused by N.H.N, whose son, named N.L.M.Q, died under Quang’s care for unknown reasons.

On March  三, N. sent his son to Quang for mental illness treatment with a fee of VNĐ 二00 million (US$ 八, 四 四 二) for a duration of two to three years.

N. had already sent Quang VNĐ 六00 million (US$ 二 五, 三00) in advance.

On March  八, N. received a call from Quang telling him that his son was positive with COVID- 一 九. One day later Quang called back and informed N. that his son has recovered from COVID.

 一 八 days later, Quang called N. to meet in central Thừa Thiên-Huế Province and informed N. that his son had died from COVID. Quang, together with a woman, then gave N. the boy's ashes.

N.’s family later sent a denunciation to the Huế police asking for clarification of the death of their son. 

The case was then transferred to the Lâm Đồng Police Department for handling since the boy died in the province. Quang was su妹妹oned i妹妹ediately for investigation.

Quang initially told the police that the boy had died of COVID- 一 九 and he burnt the boy's body. He then gave the boy's ashes to his father.
